Intro.
Hello and welcome to my eighth grade SLC. I will be talking about all of my classes and how I have progressed.
Overall Grades
Grades
What strikes me about my grades is that I have all A's. Two A+'s and one A. I almost have perfect grades. I really need to work on my humanities grade. It seems what I am most struggling is on using higher level vocabulary and elaborating on my pieces of writing.
Math and Science
ALEKS PIE
Well I'm not really proud of anything because I have been on the same course since last year. At least, I'm at a high level. I really need to work on everything. Especially on probability, and lines and functions. If it seems hard, or I don't understand right away, I tend to skip it. This is something I really need to stop doing. My performance with open-ended problems and investigative math has been very stressful. I do manage to accomplish it but there are so many steps that they get confusing.
Humanities
Vignette
Pics of Presentation
I'm more proud of my presentation than my actual writing. This is because of my projection. I had to project over the sound of the waves, seagulls, wind, fire crackling, background people, and other people presenting. I'm pretty sure everyone heard my voice though. Ways that I need to improve on is on vocabulary and making the sentences flow.
Art
Art Pics
I chose these two because I really worked hard on both and they were both displayed. I really took my time on both of them. Something I would like to focus on for the remainder of the semester is drawing in pencil first. Both of these I took a lot of my time which turned out really well. On other paintings I have just gone straight to painting which has caused many mistakes.
Goals
Conclusion
As you have seen, there are a lot of things I need to improve on. However, I have moved forward and learned new things. Thank you for coming to my SLC.

Goals
- Math and Science
- My goal in Math and Science is to do at least 1 hour of ALEKS each ALEKS day or 10 topics of ALEKS a week. This way I can move on faster but still learn at a steady pace.
- Humanities
- My goal for humanities is to use a thesaurus on every 1st daft I do. That way, in the final drafts, I am not repetitive plus I use higher level vocabulary.
- Art
- My goal in art is to do all paintings in pencil first. That way, if I do a mistake, I can easily erase it and have it still looking good.
Conclusion
As you have seen, there are a lot of things I need to improve on. However, I have moved forward and learned new things. Thank you for coming to my SLC.
